TED Questions

1.  A photograph can become more than just an image by being used in a way that is so much more than only as a picture.  JR used his photographs to brighten the mood in impoverish areas.  His blown up photographs are more than just an image because it serves to be a greater purpose than to just create a feeling or a "cool looking" photograph.

2.  Size or scale effects the power of the photograph by increasing the power of the message.  JR's pictures of people's expressions are a great example of photography, but when they are blown up to a massive size, the pictures become so much more than just a picture.

3.  By putting those photographs in poor areas there is a contrast between the picture and background.  The canvases give off a happy vibe, while the background is rundown, bringing a deeper meaning and feeling into the viewer's thoughts and ideas.

4.  The contrast in JR's photographs is what makes his images so strong and influential.  If I could find a way to find a contrast, whether it would be with the colors of my photograph or in what i'm photography.  For example, by showing contrast in the colors of my photograph, I can manipulate the viewer to see what I saw in the photograph.
